Kevin Zadai NDE: A Heavenly Visitation in the Midst of Surgery

Discover Kevin Zadai's NDE: During routine dental surgery, Kevin died, met Jesus in heaven, and returned with revelations on prayer and God’s purpose.

When Kevin Zadai entered a clinic in 1992 for what he assumed would be a routine dental procedure, he never could have imagined that his life—and eternity—were about to intersect in the most dramatic way. What should have been a simple day surgery turned into a heavenly visitation, a near-death experience (NDE) in which Kevin left his body, encountered Jesus face to face, and received revelation that continues to shape his life and ministry.

Slipping Out of His Body

Kevin recalls that he had been struggling with his jaw and frequent headaches, so surgery was scheduled to correct the problem. It was considered minor enough that he expected to go home the same day. Yet once the anesthetic took effect, Kevin realized he was no longer in his body.

“I saw that I had slipped out of my body and I was standing beside it on the operating table,” he explains. He tried to communicate with the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, and the nurses, even attempting to touch them. But they were oblivious. He could hear their conversations, yet they could not hear him.

What could have been a moment of fear quickly shifted into awe. As Kevin looked down at his own body, something supernatural occurred. The glory of God descended and wrapped around him.

Seeing Himself in Glory

“At first it looked just like me,” Kevin says, “but then all of a sudden the glory of God came on my body and everything started to change. It was as though I was being transformed back to God’s original intent before the fall of man.”

The transformation was so stunning that Kevin exclaimed, “I look beautiful.” He wasn’t boasting; he was witnessing what God had originally created humanity to be. It was a living picture of the promise in Romans 8:30: “Those he justified, he also glorified.”

The Voice Behind Him

Then came the moment that changed everything. Kevin heard a male voice behind him say, “That’s what you look like to Me all the time.” Turning around, he saw Jesus.

None of the paintings or artistic renderings Kevin had seen could capture what he now beheld. Jesus was far greater than he had ever conceived, and the knowing in his spirit confirmed without doubt that this was truly the Lord.

“For the next 45 minutes,” Kevin remembers, “He spoke to me while I was on that operating table.”

Heaven’s Perspective on Life and Death

At only 31 years old, Kevin was startled to realize he had died. Yet Jesus reframed the moment. Death for the believer is not a tragedy—it is a promotion.

“When people die and are born again of the Spirit of God, they go directly to heaven,” Jesus told him. “It’s a celebration time.”

Kevin recalls that Jesus commended him, saying he had done everything asked of him up to that point. What mattered in heaven was not the length of his life but his obedience. This aligns with Jesus’ words in John 14:15: “If you love me, keep my commands.”

Still, Kevin realized something sobering: if he had fully understood how the spirit realm worked—how prayer moved mountains, how angels ministered—his life on earth could have been far more fruitful. That conviction now drives his ministry, teaching others that every day is a gift and must not be wasted.

Not Wanting to Return

Kevin also confesses that once he was with Jesus, he did not want to come back. “Anyone who has experienced what I experienced would not want to return,” he says. “Heaven is perfect love, perfect peace. Nothing on earth compares.”

Yet Jesus told him it was not his time. Kevin was sent back to continue fulfilling his purpose, to steward what he had been shown.

Revelation on Prayer

Among the most life-changing insights Jesus gave Kevin was a deeper understanding of prayer. In a vision, Kevin saw prayer illustrated like an explosion. People look for the spectacle of fire and smoke after prayer, but the real power is in the shockwave—the invisible force that sweeps out and demolishes demonic opposition.

Jesus explained, “The supernatural is in the shockwave, not the plume. That’s what moves the mountains.”

This echoes Jesus’ teaching in Mark 11:23–24: “If anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart… it will be done for them.”

From that moment on, Kevin’s prayer life changed. He learned not to chase outward signs but to trust the unseen shockwave of God’s Spirit at work.

Praying in the Spirit

Another emphasis of Kevin’s visitation was the importance of praying in the Spirit. Drawing from passages like Romans 8:26 and 1 Corinthians 14:15, Jesus told him this was the single most important practice for walking in the supernatural.

“We don’t always know how to pray,” Kevin explains, “but the Spirit prays through us in perfect alignment with God’s will.” Jesus showed him that yielding to the Spirit in prayer is the key to accessing heavenly power on earth.

Angelic Encounters and Spiritual Authority

During his testimony, Kevin also recounts encounters with angels that reinforced what he learned from Jesus. On one occasion, an angel appeared in his room clothed like a Roman soldier—breastplate, shield, and sword. The power radiating from the angel was so overwhelming it knocked Kevin to the ground. Yet when the angel touched him, strength and courage surged through his body.

These moments confirmed what Hebrews 1:14 declares: “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?”

Transported in Prayer

Kevin also shared a powerful testimony of interceding for a friend. As he prayed, he suddenly felt transported to her room. She later confirmed in her journal that Kevin had appeared at her bedside and prophesied her destiny at the exact time he was praying miles away.

Such moments reminded Kevin that God has written every believer’s story in heaven. “I saw that He had written these beautiful entries about our days,” Kevin testifies, echoing Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

A Message for All Believers

Looking back, Kevin sees his near-death encounter not as an isolated miracle but as an assignment. Jesus entrusted him with a message for the Church:

  • Every day is a gift. Each moment is an opportunity to live with purpose.
  • Prayer is powerful. Don’t look for the spectacular—trust the unseen shockwave.
  • Praying in the Spirit is vital. It keeps you aligned with heaven’s will.
  • Angels are real. God has assigned them to aid His people.
  • Your destiny is written. Step into obedience and watch God’s plan unfold.

Kevin’s story demonstrates what Paul declared in 2 Corinthians 5:8: “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” For Kevin, that brief departure from his body brought him face to face with Jesus and returned him with a commission to awaken the body of Christ to the reality of heaven on earth.

Conclusion: Living Heaven’s Reality

Kevin Zadai’s NDE during a dental surgery is more than a dramatic testimony—it is a roadmap. It shows that heaven is real, that Jesus is closer than we imagine, and that every believer has access to the supernatural power of God through prayer, the Spirit, and obedience.

His story calls us to live with urgency, knowing that each day has eternal significance.
